The Union Joints restaurant group, which owns Vinsetta Garage in Berkley and three other restaurants, plans to open an American comfort food spot in the old WWJ transmitter building on 8 Mile Road, east of Coolidge, the Detroit Free Press reports.
Curt Catallo, co-owner, announced the plan Thursday at Oak Park’s State of the City address, Mark Kurlyandchik writes. The restaurant, tentatively named 8MK, is scheduled to open 2017.
The Art Deco building on 8 Mile east of Coolidge was used by WWJ-AM (950) until 1995, the Freep says.
