Violent crime in Detroit dropped by 13 percent in 2015, bucking a national trend which showed an increase in murder, rape, assault and robbery, according to FBI crime statistics released on Monday, the Detroit News reports.

Despite that good news, Detroit still had the second highest violent crime rate for cities of more than 100,000 residents, trailing St. Louis, the statistics show, according to the News. Last year, there were 11,846 reported violent crimes in Detroit compared to 13,616 in 2014.

Nationally, violent crime rose 3.9 percent, according to the data. Property crimes decreased by 2.9 percent nationally in 2015. 

The murder rate in Detroit changed very little, going from 298 in 2014 to 295 last year.
