Jason Carr, one of three prominent personalities cut from Fox 2's roster, landed a job with WDIV.

Carr will work as a digital anchor and reporter for the NBC affiliate, according to a WDIV press release.  Along with his online duties, which will include live-streaming broadcasts, Carr will be on “Local 4 News Today” and contribute to a mid-morning show, “Live in the D.” 

“This idea is the intersection of our audience and our on-air and online content. Jason is an extremely popular and charismatic broadcaster whose passionate interest in the evolution of media makes him the perfect guy to forge new ground with us,” Marla Drutz, vice president and general manager, says in a statement. His first official day is June 20.
 
Monday was the last day for Carr and two on-air colleaguess. Murrary Feldman and Lee Thomas. Feldman, who'll keep working at WWJ Radio, tweets:
There's no word yet on Thomas's plans. He did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Carr is married to Taryn Asher, a reporter and anchor at Fox 2. 
 
Before leaving the station, Carr sent an internal message to the staff which includes this passage:

"You have not seen the last of me. I'm not going to make this an epic or tearful goodbye email. I will say that doing the 9 [a.m. show] was so much fun I could have done it another 20 years or more." 

After his last show, WDIV sent a car to bring him to the new station. While in the car, he did a Facebook Live feed for WDIV and then ended up on the noon broadcast.
