Will New Ordinance Put the Kibosh on Panhandling in Detroit?

The city of Detroit has no shortage of down-and-out panhandlers, some more aggressive than others.

That could soon change.

A new anti-pandhandling ordinance is set to go into effect next month, the Detroit News reports.

The paper reports that the city joins at least two Metro Detroit communities with similar ordinances.

Violators face up to a $500 fine and 90 days in jail.
