CBS Sports reports that Jimmy Howard, 29, has penned a six-year, $31.8 million contract extension.
"Jimmy is one of our most valuable players who is entering the prime of his career," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said, according to CBS Sports. "He gives us a chance to win every night. He's worked hard and become better every year."
