It might surprise some folks to hear that the owners of the decimated Pontiac SIlverdome are asking $30 million for the property, particularly considering they bought it at auction for $583,000 in 2009.
JC Reindl of the Detroit Free Press reports that Triple Investment Group is asking for a "flexible" $30 million for the stadium and its 127 acres.
CBRE realtor Robert Mihelich said there have been nearly two dozen inquiries and two offers since the property went on the market several weeks ago, the Freep reports.
Mihelich tells the Freep that most prospective buyers are looking to raze the stadium and build an industrial or commercial development or mix of the two.
"My guess is, at the end of the day, it probably will be a redevelopment site," Mihelich said, "and it probably will be a corporate headquarters for somebody."
