A Westside woman is the latest to fend off would-be robbers with a weapon of her own, reports WDIV's Roger Weber.
Paris Ainsworth had just finished a double shift and was coming home late Saturday night when two men approached. Ainsworth had eight bullets in her .45 caliber handgun when she heard one of the men say "don't pull it." They shot immediately.
Ainsworth was struck three times in the side and once in the hand, but ultimately scared the men off after she opened fire.
"If I wouldn't have had my gun I would be dead today," she tells WDIV.
Police arrested the two men after they showed up to the same hospital Ainsworth was being treated at—Sinai Grace Hospital, in northwest Detroit. Ainsworth had shot one of the men in both legs.
WDIV reported that it was unclear if the other man was wounded. -- Danny Fenster
