Wayne State is preparing to grow in Detroit and Warren by selling $92 million worth of investment bonds this spring to pay for new buildings, Chad Halcom reports at Crain's Detroit Business.
Proceeds will fund a new Advanced Technology Education Center in Warren, and construction at the Multidisciplinary Biomedical Research Building at its Midtown campus.
The university Board of Governors voted Wednesday afternoon to approve a sale of 30-year bonds, with Bank of America Corp. as underwriter.
The biomedical center will replace a former Dalgleish Cadillac dealership on Cass Avenue, Halcom writes. The Macomb County campus on 12 Mile Road is on the grounds of a former Farmer Jack store WSU bought in 2011.
