A drug courier spent his 90th birthday receiving a three-year sentence from a federal judge in Detroit Wednesday.

Robert Snell reports Leo Sharp, the mutton-chopped cartel coke mule, turned to prosecutors and said “death sentence” after having heard his sentence.

On Oct. 21, 2011, Snellw writes, Sharp was stopped by a Michigan State Police trooper along eastbound Interstate 94 near Chelsea.

The trooper searched Sharp’s truck and found more than 200 pounds of cocaine. Sharp was upset when the drugs were discovered and, according to court records, blurted: "Just kill me and let me leave this planet."
