A big cloud is hanging over six members of a Detroit police narcotics unit.

George Hunter of the Detroit News reports that the cops were suspended after they raided a suspected drug house and never logged in some evidence. A surveillance video captured them taking away a box they never logged as evidence.

Hunter reports that the probe into the six cops is part of a larger Internal Affairs investigation into the now-disbanded Narcotics Section. The unit was retooled last month.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the sergeant and  five officers have been suspended with pay while an internal probe tries to determine what was in the box.
