Violence at Detroit's gas stations has become all too common.

On Thursday morning around 2 a.m., a shootout at a Citgo gas station at Linwood and Davison on the city's west side resulted in one man dead and another wounded, WXYZ reports.

The station reports that it all began when a robber approached a man who was putting air in his car tires. Both had guns and started shooting.

The robber died in an alley across the street. The victim was shot and wounded, WXYZ reports. People "ran for their lives" during the shooting, WXYZ reported.
