At this point if one were were to write a book it might be entitled: "The Many Mysteries of Kwame."
Robert Snell of The Detroit News looks at the latest mystery: How Kwame Kilpatrick was able to afford to fly repeatedly from Detroit to his adopted state of Texas when he claimed poverty and was getting a taxpayer-paid lawyer for his criminal trial.
Kilpatrick's parole agent investigated the tickets and found that the donor was "Schlana Brown, a 39-year-old Delta Air Lines employee and former Detroiter who sang on CDs with gospel legend Yolanda Adams and others," Snell writes
Snell said it's unclear how she knows the ex-mayor. He couldn't reach her for comment.
Kilpatrick is scheduled to appear Thursday morning in U.S. District Court for a status hearing in his criminal case. He was convicted of multiple public corruption charges.
The judge has insisted he remain locked up to await sentencing. He's expected to get at least 15 years in prison, according to legal observers.
