In recent times, news businesses have popped up in downtown Pontiac where the words "revival" and "comeback" are heard.
Two years ago, Vera’s Diner at 29 North Saginaw St. was among the new wave of businesses opening. Now it's shut because of too many empty stools and tables.
Foot traffic was slow, Bruce Tony, a cook at the diner, tells Natalie Broda of The Oakland Press.
“We made the decision because there wasn’t any business here. We were barely making it and the owner wasn’t even taking anything for herself,” Tony said.
