The X Games Detroit bid organizers Kevin Krease and Garret Koehler joined Jeff Wattrick in the studio to chat about their campaign to make Detroit home to the 2014-2016 summer X Games.

Since recording this podcast, the duo hosted a party in Eastern Market Saturday to premier the first cut of the X Games Detroit promotional video.

Krease says, "Having been planned in just a couple weeks, our first event this past Saturday was an absolute success with over 2,000 people witnessing the debut of our X Games Video. Partnering with Phil Cooley and various foundations, we were able to raise a total of $25,000 for the redevelopment of Roosevelt Park in Corktown. We believe Saturday was a clear demonstration of the power of organizing Detroiters around a cause they believe in and feel convicted by what this community can achieve in the future."

If Detroit wins the bid, Krease says the team wants to create an event "that weaves in the culture of the city, is built upon this action sports platform which is developed and successful, and that welcomes in all sorts of communities from the suburbs to neighborhoods in the city."
