Councilman Scott Benson
Detroit City Councilman Scott Benson will get a taste of the jail life.
Christine Ferretti of the Detroit News reports that Benson will report to Oakland County Jail on Friday for a seven-day sentence linked to drunken driving. The incident took place in Southfield last June.
Benson pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in October.
“This is what drinking and driving can get you,” Benson told The Detroit News. “I’m hoping others can take a lesson from this.”
