Dean Reynolds
Clinton Township Trustee Dean Reynolds, who was charged earlier this month with bribery in an FBI investigation into Macomb County corruption, married Melissa Simony in June. It was the 49-year-old's fourth marriage since 1994, according to the Macomb Daily.
Simony has a daughter who lives with her and Reynolds. And Reynolds, a Democrat who is running for township supervisor, has said in his campaign literature that the daughter is his own child, the paper reports.
Now, Melissa Simony's ex-husband Gregory Simony is asking a judge to issue an order to remove his daughter from Reynolds’ home due to the trustee’s recent arrest by the FBI on corruption charges, writes Mitch Hotts of the Macomb Daily. Reynolds is charged with taking tens of thousands of dollars in bribes to help a trash hauling company secure a contract with the township.
Gregory Simony’s attorney, Vincent Manzella, says Reynold's arrest and ongoing legal issues create a “toxic environment” to live, the paper reports.
Melissa's attorney Arthur Garton of Clinton Township responds, according to the Macomb Daily:
“It’s a frivolous motion designed to harass my client. He’s raised many of these same issues in the past and they’ve been dealt with. It’s absurd.”
