Update, 2:45, p.m.: Authorities announced today James VanCallis will be charged with murdering April Millsap at a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.

Earlier: A four-count warrant has been issued for the case of the murder of April Millsap of Armada, Michigan State Police confirm to Fox 2.

Sources tell Fox 2 that James VanCallis will be charged with Millsap's murder.

Authorities will hold a press conference some time on Wednesday. A start time has not been given yet.

Millsap left home to walk her dog on the Macomb Orchard Trail July 24, when she was attacked, beaten and choked to death. Her dog stayed with her until she was spotted by joggers.

Vancallis has been named the only person of interest in the case and has been jailed on unrelated drug charges.

Vancallis's father, 66-year-old James Bernard Vancallis, also faces drug charges but is not a suspect in the murder.
