Mitchelle Blair, the woman dubbed by the media as "freezer mom," was sentenced Friday in Wayne County Circuit Court to life in prison for the death of her two children who were found in a freezer, WDIV reports.
Blair admitted to the killings of her 13-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son.
She rationalized the murders, saying she killed her children because her two surviving children had been sexually abused by them.
Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Dana Hathaway said during sentencing:
"They will never know the joy of what could have been in their life without you in it. They lived in terrible fear of you, and I find that just so sad in this case. After all is said and done, you imposed the death penalty on your children."
