It's judgment in September for Kwame Kilpatrick and his pal Bobby Ferguson.

Court documents show that U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds has set sentencing for Sept. 3 at 10:00 a.m. Fox2 first reported the date.

Ferguson, a businessman who was the beneficiary of city contracts with the help of Kilpatrick, will be sentenced Sept. 4 at 10 a.m.

U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade recently told Deadline Detroit in an interview that her office planned to ask for a tough sentence for Kilpatrick, but she did not specify what that would be.

Court observers have guessed the sentence could be anywhere from 15 to 20 years.

Both Kilpatrick and Ferguson have been behind bars ever since their conviction in March.
