"There is a new beginning for Wolfgang Puck in Detroit," Nathan Skid reports today in his Crain's Detroit Business blog.
The top-dog chef will oversee Wolfgang Puck Steak and Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina in the MGM Grand casino. It's a quick bounce-back for the food empire leader, who was booted from MGM Grand just five months ago when the gaming execs replaced his Wolfgang Puck Grille with a sports bar/brew pub called Tap, which evidently went flat and tapped out.
Wolfgang Puck Steak will feature USDA Prime meat, but will leave off more expensive cuts like the incredibly marbled, and expensive, Wagyu beef.
Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina's menu features northern Italian fare and Wolfgang Puck's signature pizzas, with check averages of about $20.
Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina is expected to open by the end of October; Wolfgang Puck Steak is slated to open by December.
