Kenyetta Barnes
A domestic dispute between a mother and her boyfriend in Pontiac resulted in the death of the mother, who has seven children, Fox 2 reports. A two-year-old child was also shot, but is expected to survive.
The boyfriend has been arrested.
Maurielle Lue of Fox 2 reports that the shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Tuesday on Shirley Street, near the intersection of Auburn Avenue and Sanford Street.
Fox 2 reports that Barnes was arguing with her boyfriend, 21, in an upstairs bedroom. He allegedly pulled a gun and shot her several times, and hit her 2-year-old child who was nearby and was also struck in the leg. Three other children were home at the time.
Fox 2 reports that Barnes may have been trying to break up after six months together.
