Singer and actor Trey Songz isn't ready to see his Detroit criminal case go away.
Songz, aka Tremaine Neverson, declined to accept a plea deal Friday in Wayne County Circuit Court on charges of assaulting a Detroit police officer and causing property damage during his late December concert at Joe Louis Arena, Holly Fournier of the Detroit News reports.
Songz, 32, appeared briefly by video before Wayne County Circuit Court . Prosecutors have offered him a deal of misdemeanor attempted resisting and obstructing a police officer and misdemeanor aggravated assault. Terms of the deal would include serving two years probation, drug and alcohol screening, anger management and complete recommended treatment, the News reports.
The deal will still be out their for him when he's scheduled to appear in court on Friday, March 17.
Songz is accused of punching an officer who tried to arrest him, and throwing speakers and a microphone during a concert. He became angry after his microphone was cut off, indicating his time on stage was up.
