Slows Bar BQ, a popular restaurant with two Detroit locations, has expanded to Pontiac.
After being under construction since 2015, the restaurant on Wednesday opened an 80-plus seat location next to the Flagstar Strand Theatre for the Performing Arts on Saginaw Street in downtown Pontiac, Natalie Broda writes in The Oakland Press.
Slows will feature a rotating menu of specials, will serve concessions for the theater and offer catering, the paper reports.
“Really, each Slows has its own identity based off the core menu,” Ryan Esker, head chef, tells the Oakland Press. “It really just depends on the market and that’s what I’m excited about. I think we can do something different and interesting up here. I’m curious to say where we can take this.”
“I’m going to be learning what the taste of Pontiac is and we’ll see where can go and what works.”
Slows also is in Grand Rapids.
